In connection with the generic call of the Archimede Institute, the doctoral school 184, ED184, will have 8 doctoral contracts this year.
Application file
The application file must include
the thesis project (maximum two pages), including the title, the name of the director and the host laboratory,
the candidate's CV (max. 2 pages)
the Master 2 certificate, M1 and M2 transcripts (if available)
a letter of motivation (commitment to the doctoral programme, choice of thesis topic)
It is possible (but not necessary) to provide letters of recommendation.
Sending the file
The files thus constituted should be sent to direction-ed184@lis-lab.fr (with the director of the laboratory as a copy) in a single pdf file (including any letters of recommendation) in pdf format entitled in the name of the candidate → Nom.pdf (ATTENTION: no accents in the file title please)
Deadline
Applications must be completed before 09 May 2023, 23:59 Paris time.
Eligibility and selection criteria
The conditions for obtaining a doctoral contract are decret_n_2009-464_du_23_avril_2009_version_initiale.rtf, the main condition remaining:
To hold a Master 2 or equivalent degree To have demonstrated an aptitude for research (e.g. through an internship in a research laboratory). Not to have been registered as a doctoral student for more than 6 months.
The triplet candidate-thesis subject-supervisor is subject to evaluation. Candidates will be evaluated on the quality of their project and on the adequacy of their curriculum with this project. The availability of the supervisor is also an important element. The supervisor must not exceed the limits imposed by AMU on his or her supervision rate and must not have an unfunded doctoral student whose defence is not scheduled. This information can be requested by candidates from the doctoral school management.
Pre-selection and results:
The candidates selected by the pre-selection will be informed and contacted for an interview (possibly by videoconference) on 13 and 14 June (subject to confirmation).
This interview will take the form of a discussion of approximately 15 minutes during which the candidate will be invited to orally present his/her motivation to pursue a PhD, and in particular a PhD on his/her chosen subject.
The inter-ranking of the ED Board will take place on June 29.
The final results of the generic call will be announced in early July. The winners will have to confirm their acceptance of the doctoral contract within a week.
AAP INTER-ED 2023
As every year, the Doctoral College (DC) launches a call for thesis projects (AAP) in the framework of the Inter-ED doctoral contracts. These doctoral contracts, of which there are 10 this year, are awarded on the basis of innovation and interdisciplinarity/intersectoriality, to thesis projects that must involve two different AMU doctoral schools.
The submission of thesis projects and later of candidates' files is done on the CD website at the following address: https://college-doctoral.univ-amu.fr/fr/appel-a-projet-inter-ed
All the information concerning the AAP Inter-ED 2022 and its calendar are given on the CD website at the same address.
The timetable for the Inter-ED 2023 PAA is as follows:
- Monday 16 January 2023: opening of the 2023 Inter-ED PAA campaign.
- Friday 3 March 2023 at 12:00: deadline for submission of thesis proposals on the CD website.
Any thesis proposal that does not respect the procedure and/or arrives after the deadline will not be considered.
- Monday 6 to Friday 17 March 2023: pre-selection of thesis proposals by the EDs.
- Monday 27 March 2023: Meeting of the SC to select 20 thesis proposals for the final phase
- Tuesday 28 March 2023: Transmission of the results of the pre-selection to the project leaders
- Friday 26 May 2023: Deadline for the submission of candidate files on the SC website by the holders of the 20 selected projects (the candidate file includes all the requested documents in a single Pdf document - less than 50 MB in size)
- Monday 12 June and Tuesday 13 June 2022: Hearing of the 20 candidates and deliberation for the attribution of the 10 inter-ED doctoral contracts
- Between 14 and 16 June 2023: Information to candidates and project leaders on the results of the selection process
Launch of the 2022-2023 teaching service campaign for doctoral students
Contractual doctoral students:
The application campaign for the teaching mission allocated to contractual doctoral students starts on 01/06/2022 and ends on 31/08/2022.
How to apply:
Candidates for a teaching assignment must download and complete the application file from the Human Resources Department's website (http://drh.univ-amu.fr), under the heading recruitment/contractual doctoral student/teaching assignment campaign. The complete file must be sent to the relevant departments no later than Wednesday 31/08/2022, the closing date of the campaign.

Launch of the EJD 2023 campaign
The Southern Region offers a funding scheme for doctoral students allowing them to access a three-year job to complete their doctoral thesis. This scheme, centred around economic development and employment support, is strongly oriented towards projects carried out in partnership with companies and closely linked to strategic sectors.
1. Framework of the call for projects 2023-2026

You will also find on the website the timetable for the campaign.
The Region selects the applications according to the following criteria:
- Ranking established by the Research Commission of Aix-Marseille University
- Regional interest of the project by :
integration into one of the strategic sectors defined in the Regional Plan for Economic Development, Innovation and Internationalisation (SRDEII)
or
integration into the regional priority plans: Cancer Plan, Climate Plan (and in particular in relation to the "Zero Plastic by 2030" objective)
- Involvement of the Socio-Economic Partner and quality of the collaboration
- Potential for development of the project (business creation project, patentability, technological extensions or new processes/services, etc.)
- Labelling of the project by a Competitiveness Cluster
Each project must involve a student, a research laboratory and a socio-economic partner.
Please note: from now on, the Southern Region will ask for an annual "company/laboratory/doctoral student" collaboration report during the thesis.
2. Procedures for submitting applications
by Monday 6 February 2023 at 12 noon at the Direction de la Formation Doctorale (DFD) by electronic means at dfd-affgen@univ-amu.fr for instruction.
ATTENTION the laboratories may ask you to send them your file before this date. Please remember to send a copy to the ED.
Launch of the Disability 2023 Doctorate Campaign
This campaign is open to all students with disabilities who are planning to undertake a doctoral project.
It is based on: the financing, at the national level, of 30 doctoral contracts by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, open to all higher education and research establishments, the financing, for AMU doctoral students, of 4 additional doctoral contracts by the A*Midex foundation
The deadline for submitting applications to the Pôle vie étudiante (PVE) of the DEVE (deve-handicap@univ-amu.fr) is Friday 10 March 2023. The PVE will help the candidates to prepare their application.
As in previous years, the selected application files will be submitted by the Doctoral Schools in SIREDO before Friday 12 May 2023 at 17:00.

Contrats doctoraux ED184 2023
En lien avec l'appel générique de l'institut Archimède, l'école doctorale 184, ED184, disposera cette année de 8 contrats doctoraux.
Dossier de candidature
Les dossiers de candidature devront comprendre :
le projet de thèse (maximum deux pages), comportant le titre, le nom du directeur et le laboratoire d’accueil,
le CV du candidat, (max. 2 pages)
l’attestation de Master 2, relevé de notes de M1 et M2 (si disponible)
une lettre de motivation (engagement dans le programme doctoral, choix du sujet de thèse)
Il est possible (mais pas nécessaire) de fournir des lettres de recommandation.

Les dossiers ainsi constitués sont à envoyer à direction-ed184@lis-lab.fr (avec le directeur du laboratoire en copie) en 1 seul fichier pdf (lettres de recommandation éventuelles incluses) au format pdf intitulé au nom du candidat → Nom.pdf (ATTENTION : pas d'accents dans l'intitulé du fichier svp)

Les candidatures doivent être complétées avant le 09 mai 2023, 23h59 heure de Paris.
Conditions d'obtention et critères de sélection
Les conditions d’obtention d’un contrat doctoral sont les suivantes decret_n_2009-464_du_23_avril_2009_version_initiale.rtf, la condition principale restant:
- Etre titulaire d’un Master 2 ou d’un diplôme équivalent Avoir montré son aptitude à la recherche (par exemple par un stage dans un laboratoire de recherche). Ne pas être inscrit en doctorat depuis plus de 6 mois.
Le triplet candidat-sujet de thèse-encadrant est soumis à évaluation. Les candidats seront évalués sur la qualité de leur projet et sur l'adéquation de leur cursus avec ce projet. La disponibilité de l'encadrant est également un élément important, celui-ci ne devra pas dépasser les limites imposées par AMU sur son taux d'encadrement et ne pas avoir de doctorant non financé dont la soutenance n'est pas programmée. Ces éléments d'information peuvent être demandés par les candidats à la direction de l'école doctorale.
Pré-sélection et Résultats :
Les candidats et candidates retenus par la pré-sélection seront informés et contactés pour un entretien (possiblement en visio) les 13 et 14 juin (sous réserve).
Cet entretien prendra la forme d'une discussion d'environ 15 mn au cours de laquelle le candidat ou la candidate sera invité-e- à présenter oralement sa motivation à effectuer un doctorat, et en particulier un doctorat sur le sujet qu'il ou elle a choisi.
L'interclassement du conseil de l'ED se tiendra le 29 juin.
Les résultats finaux de l’appel générique seront annoncés début juillet. Les lauréats devront confirmer leur acceptation du contrat doctoral sous huitaine.
AAP INTER-ED 2023
Comme chaque année le Collège Doctoral (CD) lance un appel à projets (AAP) de thèse dans le cadre des contrats doctoraux Inter-ED. Ces contrats doctoraux, au nombre de 10 cette année, sont attribués, sur critères d'innovation et d'interdisciplinarité/intersectorialité, à des projets de thèse associant obligatoirement deux écoles doctorales d'AMU distinctes.

Le calendrier de l'AAP Inter-ED 2023 est le suivant:
- Lundi 16 janvier 2023: ouverture de la campagne 2023 de l'AAP inter-ED.
- Vendredi 3 mars 2023 à 12h: date limite de dépôt des projets de thèse sur le site web du CD.
Toute proposition de thèse qui ne respecte pas la procédure et/ou qui arrive hors délai ne sera pas considérée.
- Du lundi 6 au vendredi 17 mars 2023: présélection des projets de thèse par les ED.
- Lundi 27 mars 2023 : Réunion du CD pour sélectionner 20 projets de thèse pour la phase finale
- Mardi 28 mars 2023 : Transmission des résultats de la présélection aux porteurs de projets
- Vendredi 26 mai 2023 : Date limite de dépôt sur le site web du CD des dossiers des candidat-e-s par les porteurs des 20 projets sélectionnés (le dossier candidat regroupe l'ensemble des pièces demandées en un seul document Pdf -d'un volume inférieur à 50 MO)
- Lundi 12 juin et mardi 13 juin 2022 : Audition des 20 candidat-e-s et délibération pour l'attribution des 10 contrats doctoraux inter-ED
- Entre le 14 et le 16 juin 2023 : Information des candidat-e-s et porteurs de projets sur les résultats du processus de sélection
Lancement campagne 2022-2023 des services d'enseignement des Doctorants
Doctorants contractuels :
La campagne de candidature à la mission d’enseignement allouée aux doctorants contractuels débute le 01/06/2022 et se termine le 31/08/2022.
Comment candidater :
Les candidats à une mission d’enseignement doivent télécharger et compléter le dossier de candidature sur la page internet de la direction des ressources humaines (http://drh.univ-amu.fr), rubrique recrutement/doctorant contractuel/campagne service d’enseignement. Le dossier complet doit être transmis auprès des composantes concernées au plus tard le mercredi 31/08/2022, date de clôture de la campagne.

Lancement de la campagne EJD 2023
La Région Sud propose un dispositif de financement en direction des doctorants leur permettant d’accéder à un emploi de trois ans pour la réalisation de leur thèse de doctorat. Ce dispositif, centré autour du développement économique et du soutien à l’emploi, est fortement orienté en faveur de projets menés en partenariat avec des entreprises et étroitement liés aux filières stratégiques.
1. Cadre de l’appel à projets 2023-2026

La Région sélectionne les dossiers en fonction des critères suivants :
- Classement établi par la Commission de la Recherche d’Aix-Marseille Université
- Intérêt régional du projet par :
l’intégration dans l’une des filières stratégiques définies dans le Schéma Régional de Développement Economique, d’Innovation et d’Internationalisation (SRDEII)
ou
l’intégration dans les plans prioritaires régionaux : Plan Cancer, Plan Climat (et notamment en lien avec l’objectif « Zéro plastique en 2030 »)
- Implication du Partenaire Socio-Economique et qualité de la collaboration
- Potentiel de valorisation du projet (projet de création d’entreprise, brevetabilité, extensions technologiques ou nouveaux procédés/services…)
- Labellisation du projet par un Pôle de Compétitivité
Chaque projet devra associer un étudiant, un laboratoire de recherche et un partenaire socio-économique.
A noter : désormais, la Région Sud demandera au cours de la thèse un rapport annuel de collaboration « entreprise/laboratoire/doctorant ».
2. Modalités de dépôt des dossiers
au plus tard le lundi 6 février 2023 à 12 heures à la Direction de la Formation Doctorale (DFD) par voie électronique à l’adresse dfd-affgen@univ-amu.fr pour instruction.
ATTENTION les laboratoires peuvent vous demander de leur envoyer votre dossier avant cette date. Merci de penser à mettre l'ED en copie.
Lancement de la Campagne Doctorat Handicap 2023
Cette campagne est ouverte à tous les étudiants en situation de handicap qui envisagent de s’engager dans un projet doctoral.
Elle s’appuie sur : le financement, au niveau national, de 30 contrats doctoraux par le ministère de l’enseignement supérieur et de la recherche, ouvert à tous les établissement d'enseignement supérieur et de recherche, le financement, pour les doctorants AMU, de 4 contrats doctoraux supplémentaires par la fondation A*Midex
La date limite de transmission des dossiers au Pôle vie étudiante (PVE) de la DEVE (deve-handicap@univ-amu.fr) est fixée au vendredi 10 mars 2023. Le PVE aidera les candidats dans le montage de leur dossier.
Comme les années précédentes, les dossiers de candidature sélectionnés seront déposés par les Ecoles Doctorales dans SIREDO avant le vendredi 12 mai 2023 à 17h00.
